There’s always a solution to life problems. But, sometimes when we’re in the middle of it, things can feel overwhelming, and it’s hard to view things from a clear or unbiased perspective. e can easily blame, or take things out on others. And often it is the people we love the most whom we argue with.

Poor sleep and unrest contributes to the cycle of stress, yoyo dieting, caffein & sugar cravings, feeling drained or fatigued, feeling increased pain, and helplessness. We need a good rest in order to heal, bring order to our thoughts, d be ready for the next day ahead. Step is the most important thing of all. Parents sometimes lack a good nights sleep. And this can lead to chronic exhaustion, chronic pain, ailments, and a myriad of unwelcome symptoms.

It’s easy to be stuck in a cycle of stress, sleeplessness, and ill health. And it’s understandable that we don’t know what to do for the best when tired.

Tasks & chores may be piling up, and you may not be able to prioritise your tasks like you would if you were hands-free, and well rested. This is how people then make poor decisions, or impulsive decisions, instead of thinking things through in logical steps and stages. It becomes easy to blow a short fuse, or become avoidant, or seek an escape route (taking a break), or trying to escape your current situation for an evening, or 10 minutes.

You may not be as independent as you once were, or find yourself always seeking advice, and support, following others, which after a while, you start to lose yourself, your confidence, and sense of worth. You may not have the same dignity, or status you once had. Or you may become highly self-critical, hyper-focused, anxious, and upset with yourself. But this is not the answer.

Usually when we are overtired, stressed, or upset, our pain receptors are more active, and we may suffer with more pain & injuries, and focus on the pain. Focusing on pain, and discomfort, rather than focusing on positive and comfortable thoughts will have you feeling even worse at the end of the day. Some people might have a tipple to help with the back or joint pain, instead of seeking physio, joining class, or going to the gym (positive steps).

Once you are in a rut, it can be very difficult to shift things, or to get out of it on your own. People may tell you what you want to hear, and be afraid of causing you more upset or stress. Or they may start telling you what to do, think, or feel. And this is counter-productive. You may go and get pills for your aches, and pains, or your sleepless nights, and anxiety. Though there are better ways to manage stress, reduce stress, and change the pattern.

Deep down you already know what you should be doing, after all, it’s only common sense. But your health, vitality, and energy levels are depleted. And you may feel like it’s impossible to complete the most basic of tasks. Things might seem daunting, or you might put them off till later, or another day. Procrastination.

Having been there myself as a Fibromyalgia sufferer (CFS/ME/Post-Viral Fatigue, with Hyper-mobility, and underachieve thyroid. I know first hand how these ailments, medications, and stress take their toll on you. You won’t know your ankle from your elbow, to put it politely. And the fact is all of that may not have been necessary, had you had the right information available to you at the time. We eat the wrong foods, we try to get the energy we need to keep up. And life gets on top of us. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take medicine if you need it, or have been prescribed it. It simply means that choosing a healthier lifestyle could have saved you all of the trouble.

Even if you suffer from an auto-immune disorder, connective tissue disorder, or sensitivity or pain disorder, you can train yourself to be more active & healthy. I would never try to diminish or minimalize someone else’s pain. Though I can only highlight that pain & disease are heightened when we are stressed. The more we can lower our cortisol, the better our body will function.

The aim therefore should not be to avoid stress, pain, and activity, but to manage better, until we stop firing stress signals, think more positively, and start to feel better. No pain, no gain as the saying goes. But if you do have ongoing health problems, speak to a medical professional before starting ererciaw, or changing diet.
